Correct Document Order for Govt Job Applications
Most portals do not specify order, but reviewers expect documents in a logical sequence. Wrong order does not usually cause rejection but can slow down document verification. Standard order:

How to Handle Password-Protected PDFs
If one of your documents (like a bank statement or e-certificate) is password-protected, it cannot be merged directly. Two ways to remove the password:
Method 1 — Print to PDF (Recommended):
- Open the password-protected PDF in Chrome browser
- Enter the password when prompted
- Press Ctrl + P (Print)
- In the Printer dropdown, select "Save as PDF"
- Click Save — the new PDF has no password
Method 2 — Print on Mobile (Android):
Open PDF in any viewer → Tap Share → Print → Save as PDF. The exported copy will not have a password.
Scanned Documents vs Digital PDFs — What's the Difference?
This matters because scanned PDFs are much larger in file size:
Digital PDF (text-based)Very small — 50KB to 200KB

For government document submission: Scan at 150 DPI in black and white for text documents. Use color only for photos. This alone can reduce your merged PDF size by 60–70%.
Common Upload Errors and Fixes
"File size exceeds limit"
Before merging: compress each image using our Image Compressor, scan documents at 150 DPI in grayscale, and remove blank pages from scanned PDFs using our Remove Pages tool.
"Invalid file format" or "Corrupted file"
Some portals reject PDF version 1.7+. Re-save your merged PDF by printing to PDF from Chrome — this creates a compatible version. Also avoid merging a file that is already compressed with unusual encoding.
"Document not readable" after upload
Likely a password-protected page inside the merged file. Use the Print to PDF method above for each protected document before merging.
Portal hangs or shows "processing" forever
Your file may be too large for the portal's upload handler. Try splitting your documents into two separate PDFs if the portal allows multiple uploads, or further reduce individual image sizes.
File Naming Before You Merge
Before merging, rename your files clearly so you can identify them in the merger. Example:
